Ending sexism in medicine

29 Feb 2024
The Women's Health Workshop

The BMA published a survey in 2021 on sexism experienced by doctors working in the NHS. The findings showed how prevalent sexism is and the impact it has on the career paths of doctors and medical students and their wellbeing. This talk will cover the findings of the BMA survey and other recent reports into sexism in medicine and look at how we have used these findings to set up a programme of work to address the key problems found. We want to also spread awareness of the options available to doctors and medical students if they want to report sexism and sexual misconduct.
